Good place for a stroll with the kids. It was lovely that we were allowed to sit on a sofa/antique chairs inside the house and experience how wonderful it couldve been to live in here. Beautiful surroundings. Loved it!
A National Trust property with superb views as it was on a brow of a hill. The main building needs refurbishment but the grounds were indeed splendid. The volunteers did their best to show us the building. The garden paths led us to the various scenic points for views of the surrounding areas.
Got to love this place, stunning views across the valley just trees & fields. Interesting that the house was extended over the years & the story of how the National Trust came by it. Recommend the cellar tour. Couldn't go upstairs due to a water leak earlier in the year. Just a few rooms downstairs. Caf for light eats & drinks is available. Great gardens to walk around in & play areas for kids. Highly recommended, a lovely piece full place.
National Trust at its best! Always a great afternoon here. An interesting house that isn't too big to get round. Beautiful grounds with a choice of walks of varying lengths, although some steep. Small cafe with cakes & snacks. Lawn games often out for small & big kids. What's not to like!
Recovering from a burst water pipe. So the house was largely closed. But the few open rooms containing salvaged articles were fascinating. The grounds are extensive with some good walks through the woods. Just remember - the further downhill you walk, the further you will have to climb back up....
